Studying at Western Colorado University has opened a new chapter in my life, one that goes beyond soccer. I’m currently majoring in physical education with the goal of becoming a K–12 PE teacher. Being active and learning through movement has always been a big part of who I am, and now I want to help the next generation experience the same joy and confidence that sports gave me.
As an international student, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow—not just in the classroom, but in life. I’ve learned how to communicate better, express myself in a second language, and understand different cultures. These experiences are helping shape the kind of teacher I want to be: someone who is patient, open-minded, and always encouraging.
In the future, I hope to return to Japan and work with students as a PE teacher who can make learning fun, meaningful, and inclusive. I believe physical education is not just about sports—it’s about building teamwork, confidence, and healthy habits. I’m excited for what’s ahead and thankful for how far I’ve come.
My Mission
My mission is to become a physical education teacher in the United States and use sports as a tool to empower girls. Through my experiences, I want to inspire Japanese people—especially young women—to believe in themselves, take bold steps, and embrace new opportunities. By sharing my story of studying abroad, overcoming struggles, and living authentically, I hope to become a bridge between Japan and the U.S., connecting cultures, values, and dreams through education and sports.
